Roza Akopyan - BSN, Nurse
A few years ago, my sister suffered a devastating brain aneurysm rupture that left her unable to walk or fully comprehend her surroundings. Watching someone so full of life face such profound challenges was heartbreaking. As her sister, I experienced firsthand the difficulty of finding a place where she could receive the care and attention her condition demanded. This personal journey, along with my experience caring for my grandmother during her six months on hospice, inspired me to pursue this field. I wanted to provide others with the compassionate care my family deserved. As a BSN nurse, I am proud to be part of Varta’s Place, where our vision is rooted in love, family, and exceptional care."

Watching my grandmother spend her final days at home was a deeply emotional experience that left a lasting impact on me. Providing her with comfort and care during that time was a privilege, but it also revealed how challenging and vital compassionate, personalized care truly is. That experience inspired me to be part of creating a space like Varta’s Place—where families can trust that their loved ones are cared for with the same love, dignity, and respect that I wanted for my grandmother. It’s more than a commitment; it’s a passion rooted in personal experience.
"I feel so fortunate to have found this care home for my mother. The owners and staff are kind and helpful. You can tell they really care about them. The home always looks and smells clean. The staff are warm and welcoming and spend a lot of time interacting with residents in addition to caring for their daily needs. They have an amazing nurse who makes sure everyone is safe and monitors any medical issues might arise. She always goes the extra mile to care for the residents. The main room has comfy recliners for the residents to relax and watch tv. The individual rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Meals are always cooked fresh and I've never seen any frozen food, which is really nice. I feel like my mother is so well taken cared of and safe. It's reassuring that staff share good news or any concerns with me. Good care facilities can be hard to find and I feel so lucky that my mother is at this home."
